McCain pulls out of Michigan

John McCain has pulled ads and people out of Michigan.  Michigan has gone democratic in every presidential election since 1992.  McCain thought he had a chance here because he won the primary here in 2000.  He and his people have never seen that the 2000 primary vote was a slap in the face to then Governor John Engler and little to nothing to do with him.  In 2000, with the Dem primary race set, many dems including me crossed over to vote for McCain.  Mostly to embarrass Engler who was the Bush chair and said he would carry the state for Bush.

There was never much support for McCain in Michigan.  He lost the 2008 primary to Romney.  It is hard to figure out a set of numbers that get McCain to 270 electoral college votes without Michigan.  I think this is the beginning of the end.  Thankfully.
