Texas Man Pardoned, 27 Years Later

Johnnie Lindsey served 27 years in Texas prisons for a rape he didn’t commit before DNA testing proved him innocent and led to his release last September. On April 24, his exoneration became official with a pardon based on evidence of innocence from Texas Gov. Rick Perry. He is the 238th person exonerated by DNA testing in the United States and the 38th in Texas.

His case is featured in the first episode of the new Investigation Discovery series Dallas DNA.
